8096 - True, Finke is more of a natural course that changes each year so the track never stays the same.. a little man made but mostly to mark out the course and spectator barriers.

Dry riverbeds, well as long as no rain is predicted in the near future it's not too bad to walk across them but then you have to be wary of snakes.

Yeah, but thing is that you often have the meteo which one is needed ........ and the heavy weather is happening just beyond the horizon ....... Famous last words "What the heck is happening .......... (sound of foaming water)"
