Rules and help to post pictures by Tracy

Post by MoonRaven » 30-04-2011 14:08

RULES:

1) (If all agree) please replace broken, or nonworking images. This may not always be noticed, but if you happen to see that your image is not loading correctly please try to correct it if you would like.
NOTE: Not all images will function the same due to different browsers, and so forth. Also there are sites that either one do not allow, or will ask you not to HotLink an image. For a explanation on Hot Linking images please refer to this link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotlink

2) (If all agree) good commentary is a wonderful thing. Only if you have something nice to say. However please try not to get to spammy. This is after all a topic for images, not spam. For example; "Wow, those are beautiful images can you please pm me, and let me know where you found them" is good commentary. Although; " Hey did you see that movie that had those flying monkeys in it? That was great." is spam, and not really on topic.

These rules are subject to Moon Ravens approval, and may change at any time she deems necessary. Thank you all for your cooperation it is greatly appreciated.

Help posting images:
Here are two very good examples of how to post an image.

Okay 1) Go to http://www.imageshack.us/

2) Mark the option to upload from file, or url (left of the browse button) then Click on the browse button.

3) After you have chose the correct picture file, decide on the size you want it from the drop down size bar under the browse button, and mark the re-size image option.

4) Under the re-size image box is a remove size/resolution bar from thumbnail box. If you would like the size bar to be removed mark this option, if not then leave it blank.

NOTE: If your image is larger then 1024 Kilobytes then it can not be used, and will need to be made smaller in file size, this can be done with a photo editing program. Here is a how to link.

Here is a link to a free program that you can download and use as well.

http://picasa.google.com/download/
I am sure that there are also a lot more out there.

5) Next click the Host button. Then wait for the image to be hosted.

6) When that is done, choose one of the new options given such as Hot Link for Forum (1), or the Hot Link for Forum (2) option. Their are more options as you will see. Like the one in the pictures below, the image size will depend on the link that you chose. When you have chose an option highlight it, and then copy the entire link. ( it should look like a http: address url)

7) Lastly go to the Forum you would like to post the image in ( I would recommend that you have two separate windows open to do this so that you can switch back, and forth if needed ), click the post a reply option, write any text that you would like, and paste the copied link (url) into the text box. If you would like, you may also click the preview button at the bottom of the text box next to the submit button to preview the image, and see if it is to your liking. Once that is complete, and you have the reply the way that you would like it, click the submit button, and you are done!
GREAT JOB!!! Happy Posting!!!
